FRIDAY FINDS

Michelle found these today and I think they are cool, they have a retro look that I'm into. I want to remove the metal leg boots and the tri-diamond emblem on the side top supports and paint them. I have 3 different idea's on paint #1. paint the wood pink and metal white #2. paint the wood aqua and the metal white or paint the wood a dark navy blue and the metal bright red. I wish I had 6 of these because i think all 3 idea's are good.

MUSIC SHEET CHEST OF DRAWERS

Here is the mate to the dresser I did earlier, this turned out really sharp had to change pull configuration due to missing pull's but I like it and again legs came from the furniture parts box.

SAVANNAH GA. GARAGE SALE FIND

Michelle found this while visiting her niece in Georgia and I said I think I have painted this dresser before went through our photo's and found out I was right. Same dresser just had one more drawer than the other one. I didn't paint the pulls on this one.

I knew I had painted that dresser before, Michelle had bought this white 4 drawer dresser this past December painted it satin white with pink enameled pulls

Solid Oak dresser that is crazy heavy and very unique. next pic a hand made side table in need of a bath and a refinish. then a old barn table with about 6 layers of paint,a old shelf with coat hooks and a old ornate chair.

ONE MORE KROEHLER POST

Last December my lovely wife Michelle said, Come look at this old chair I bought for $10.00! I said cool, somebody I knew had that chair in a differnt fabric I think, but I'm sure it was that chair. I sat in it and it was super comfortable, nice chair.....any ways Shell put it on Craigslist and sold it for $75.00. The name Kroehler is pronounced Cray-Ler any ways the 2 piece's we have bought have been nice and of good quality.


I love old colorful advertisements of almost any thing and have always enjoyed looking at old Life and Look magazines from my childhood years and remembering things that relatives had in their homes. I found some old Kroehler furniture ad's on the net.

KROEHLER VINTAGE HUTCH

This hutch is a thrift store find that was missing it's legs and had been distressed naturally for decades, but it was such a unique vintage piece and a quality piece of furniture that just needed some updating. I have Googled Kroehler furniture and they made some sharp looking furniture and I love the retro look of the items they did in 50's and 60's. Michelle had found the Lion claw legs in a box of furniture parts that someone was tossing out on trash day, so I attached them to the hutch, sanded and painted the whole thing satin white and removed and cleaned all the hardware and painted it apple green and reinstalled it and then painted the ball that the Lion claw was grabbing green along with painting the inside of the hutch green. This was a fun project to work on and it turned out so nice. I hope to find another one someday.

Sheet Music Dresser

Michelle bought this piece along with a matching chest of drawers and both pieces were missing their legs very strange? but found some legs in my furniture parts box and went to work. I wish I could take credit for coming up with the sheet music idea but I saw Miss Mustard Seed do this with an older dresser on her blogand I thought it was very creative and I also found a bunch of sheet music in the pink desk we bought from Goodwill that you see on our blog, the girl that owned the desk was in the band at school because it was all for the flute. I then distressed it lightly and cleaned,primed and painted the pulls metallic silver...we think it turned out nice and plan on doing the chest of drawers the same way.http://missmustardseed.blogspot.com/2010/03/sytycd-week-4-whites.html check this out
