1960's Bassett Dinning Set

We bought this retro Bassett dinning set for $150 and after some cleaning and polishing we were able to sell it on Craigs List today for $ 325. I love it when we come across furniture that doesn't need to be refinished in order to be sold at a profit. Michelle recovered the chairs in a retro styled fabric from Hobby Lobby she also covered the back board of the china hutch with the same fabric. We had a lot of interest in this set and it sold fast.

THRIFT STORE DINNING SET

Michelle bought this battered table for $20 at one of our favorite thrift store's it had a solid wood top and I knew it could be beautiful again.
So I stripped it back to raw wood and sanded it smooth....Why is Daisy sniffing the table leg??? I bet the previous owners of this table had a cat.....Daisy's arch enemy

Michelle found these Duxbury style chairs at another thrift store for $35 they were wobbly and needed re-gluing but after re-gluing and clamping over night they were decent again. I sanded the chairs and painted them with BERH's Oregano Spice semi-gloss paint.

Here is the finished set...the table top was stained with Minwax English Chestnut stain and then received 4 coats of Minwax satin finish polyurethane....the polyurethane was sanded with 220 sandpaper between coats.

This turned out Great , I love that shade of green it really looks Great and we sold it quickly and on to the next piece.

HAZEL THE 3rd

This desk started out as a thrift store find and the chair was also a thrift store find, both piece's needed help.
Really liked the different compartment's in the hutch top. The chair was really sturdy but very dirty and surprisingly comfortable.

Sherwin-Williams Hazel is the paint color for the desk & chair.

We recovered the seat with a black foilage print.

Black hardware looks sharp with this color.

Black metal shoe's on the front legs.

Finished desk and chair look great.

THRIFT STORE DRESSER

Bought this dresser at a local thrift store and stripped the top and stained it with ebony stain and then polyurethaned it. Sanded the dresser and drawer faces and painted them a color that Glidden calls Swiss coffee white, anyways it turned out nice and is for sale on CraigsList now.
