ANTIQUE HUTCH FIND

Michelle found this at a garage sale on Friday and didn't bring it home because her truck was full. She told me about it but I can never visualize any of her descriptions of furniture. She said it was a vintage/retro hutch....anyways we picked it up after church on Sunday and I think it is really cool and in great shape for the how old it is. Some one took care of this piece over the years because it is in great condition. We are trying to sell it as is because I think it would be a shame to paint it.

FRIDAY FINDS

This is an interesting find, a Hello Kitty store front sign looking for a new home. The soft drink is there for size reference. Michelle has this for sale on craigslist/nashville/for sale/furniture by owner/hello kitty wall sign.

Slightly used Bistro table and chairs. table top and chair arms had finish problems, sanded them and painted them with black acrylic paint and then with polycrylic satin finish.

MONDAY THRIFT STORE FINDS

Here is a couple piece's Michelle bought that I thought were weird both being drawn by donkey's. the guy with the sombrero is not that weird, I guess he goes around giving people shots of tequila in little brown mugs?, but what is going on with the devil girl riding on top of the decorated donkey drawn cart? very strange to me.

This is a interesting vintage desk, they don't make them like this any more. this will be repainted soon and new pic's to follow.

We hit our favorite store's in Murfreesboro today and quickly filled the GMC Canyon.

GARAGE FURNITURE JUST WAITING

Vintage chairs.
I'm guessing this was used for storing album's or a phone stand.

Nice solid oak desk.

Rough piece that needs some work and creativity.

Michelle bought last week a vintage teak wood patio bar it would be nice if someone not me restored it.

STRANGE THURSDAY FIND

Michelle left Thursday morning to go to a couple garage sales and returned home in about 20 Min's. with a purchase she was all excited about , she asked me to come see what she bought and was sure she was going to make some good $$$ quick, so she opened the green suit case to reveal a vintage CAMERANO accordion, she said she bought from a old man that was having a garage sale and it belonged to his wife and he sold it to her for $30.00. I had a hard time getting excited about an old accordion until I got on ebay and saw a vintage CAMERANO accordion for sale for $495.00 it looked just like the one Michelle bought but it had a different model # anyways I gave it a quick DETAIL/CLEAN UP and took photo's and listed it on Craigslist for $175.00 and sold an hour later it was a good Thursday.

SHABBY CHIC TABLE + CHAIRS

Michelle bought this and thought maybe she would sell it just as it is? I don't always understand the shabby chic thing, to me there is a line between ratty junk furniture and lightly distressed shabby chic. I have looked at some of Michelle's magazines and seen wooden furniture that to me looks awful, some of it looks like it spent 200 years in a barn full of animals and some of the animals left their mark on it and it also received 9 paint jobs and 7 of them have chipped off and why someone would want to bring that into their home just confuses me, but I thought Michelle did a great job with this table and also recovered the chairs and I think the table and chairs together would look really good in any home.

RETRO AQUA END TABLES

Michelle bought these and they were nice just as they were, but I really wanted to paint them something colorful so I stripped them and sanded them painted them aqua with silver hardware.
pulled all the metal hardware from tables and cleaned/primed/painted metallic silver.

disassembled the tables so I could sand the laminate table tops completely and it helped me with not having any running paint from top piece to table bottom. I paint with a foam 4 inch roller and a good quality 2 inch angled paint brush.

I cleaned and painted the leg shoes or leg boots or what ever they are called.

this tri-diamond design is really cool.

they turned out really nice

finished and for sale

SATURDAY FINDS

Michelle bought 3 truck loads of furniture today. The last load she bought from an old man that said he had some old furniture in his shed he wanted to sell and it might have been his all his life because it sure was old and full of spiders so we sprayed all the pieces right there in the truck and I hope they are all good and dead before we unload it to the garage

AQUA NIGHT STAND

Night stand from thrift store it was dirty and ugly, but it was all there. 4 coats of paint on it, the last one being flat off white probably left over ceiling paint? any time furniture has chrome pulls I want to paint it aqua for some reason any ways it turned out real nice.

BLACK OAK DRESSER

Finished this yesterday and it looks great, I gave it the triple black treatment as in exterior, interior and hardware are all painted black now we just need a buyer for it.
